Kate Williams has spanned years and the globe in pursuit of a greater insight into fibre arts. She has completed a degree in fibre arts and exhibited her work in Yukon, Halifax, Vancouver and Oregon. Not only influenced by her time in Canada, Kate has also travelled exensively in Asia and Europe to study fibre related arts. At home in Yukon, she is an active member of the Northern Fibres Guild and Yukon Artists at Work, and has had work chosen to be a part of the Yukon Permanent Art Collection.

This class will lead participants through the start-to-finish of creating a needlefelted piece that could be applied to clothing (or other surfaces). Kate Williams will cover the basics of needlefelting and how it can be used in clothing design, the equipment and supplies that you will need to get started, image design, and the design process behind an image suitable for apparel.
