Dutch Handsome & the Ransoms
March 6 @ 7 pm
St. Elias Convention Centre HJ
Dutch Handsome and the Ransoms are a classic cowboy honky tonk band based in Whitehorse, made up of an all-star cast of Yukon musicians – Alex Johnston on vocals and acoustic guitar, lead guitarists Ryan McNally and Bob Hamilton. The rhythm section highlights Genesee Keevil on upright bass and Patrick Singh on drums.
The group was featured at the Kluane Bluegrass Festival in Haines Junction, and have played shows in Whitehorse and Carcross. The group delivers old-time cowboy honky-tonk blues and swing that gets toes tapping and voices singing along.
Qualité Motel
March 7 @ 7 pm
St Elias Convention Centre HJ
Qualité Motel is a party machine operated by the guys from Valaire — a musical and recreational vehicle shifting between DJ sets, Top-40 mash-ups, remixes, and original electro-pop compositions, all as fiery as a dragon-print shirt.
On stage, they reject the idea of guilty pleasures — because fun is fun, all the time. On record, they spotlight Quebec’s star system, collaborating with beloved artists including Mitsou, Elisapie, Karim Ouellet, Marie-Élaine Thibert (with Fanny Bloom), Koriass, and Christian Bégin on the hit Basilic.
Fifteen years in, the mission remains the same: pure fun.
Joshua Lesage
Joshua Lesage is a Whitehorse artist with 12 years of carving experience in wood, stone, clay and snow. Born and raised in Manitoba farming country, Lesage moved to the Yukon when he was 18, and discovered his love for creating art.
This is his 4th year sculpting at Glacier Nights Snow Festival, and we’re thrilled he’s back!
Come meet Joshua on Friday evening.
