This episode features two Yukon bands. Flicks & Groove and Barbara Chamberlin & friends. Both performed at the Old Firehall in downtown Whitehorse as part of Jazz Yukon’s “Jazz in the Hall” music series.
Flicks & Groove
Flicks & Groove, was formed by the multi-instrumentalists Malorie Gendreau, Marc Tannahill, and Alana Martinson, in 2024.
Brought together by their shared passion for music and cinema, the group reimagines timeless film soundtracks, from golden-age classics to modern-day gems.
We recorded the quintet in February of 2026.
Barbara Chamberlin
Barbara is one of Yukon’s premier artists. Originally from Oregon, she has performed throughout the Pacific Northwest, across Canada, as well as in Germany and Asia.
In April 2026, Barbara Chamberlin presented new original blues songs from her latest album, Shifting Rhythm.
