This episode features two very talented singer/songwriters and multi-instrumentalists from Whitehorse, Yukon.
Selina Heyligers-Hare and Hannah Mazurek are both well known in the territory for their performances in rock and funk bands. However, it is a testament to their musical diversity, that both accepted an invitation from Jazz Yukon to showcase their own jazz projects at the annual Jazz in the Hall music series.
Selina Heyligers-Hare

Selina performs under the name “Hendrika”, but is also involved in multiple other Yukon bands and music related projects. She is widely recognized as the main vocalist of Yukon’s acclaimed “super group,” Major Funk.
In March of 2025, Selina Heyligers-Hare performed at the Old Fire Hall in downtown Whitehorse, Yukon, before a live audience. Selina on lead vocals and guitar was joined by Andy Slade on keys, Tara Martin on drums, Emily Slaney on Vocals and Daniel Witt – bass.

Hannah Mazurek

Hannah has been involved in diverse projects within the Canadian music scene, spanning musical theatre, opera, composition, sound design, conducting, playwriting, and more. Hannah completed studies in classical voice at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Music.
In November 2025, Hannah Mazurek graced the stage at the Old Fire Hall in downtown Whitehorse alongside Jordy Walker on guitar and synthesizer, Adam Cripps on upright & electric bass, and Jake Jenne on drums.
