Claire Ness & The Gin Swings
This episode features multi-talented Whitehorse performer Claire Ness
Claire is a professional singer-songwriter, comedian, circus artist/instructor, and live event producer based in Whitehorse. Born and raised in the Yukon she discovered her passion for performing through her time spent in local theatre productions. Inspired by this experience, she moved to Toronto for Humber College’s Comedy Writing and Performance program.
But Claire’s musical roots as a “bushwhackin” Northerner eventually drew a back to the Yukon. Where on her return she produced her first album “Hopeless Romantic”, which was released in 2013. She is currently working on her second album “Jackfish Girl”. In addition to all her local shows and engagements in various arts projects Claire will be showcasing her talents nationally and internationally – watch for this this up and coming artist!
On Valentine’s Day 2014 Yukon’s multi-talented Claire Ness entertained her audience with an nostalgic mix of 30’s and 40’s-style swing tunes. In her intimate rendering of each song, Claire’s voice reveals an honest vulnerability that draws you into listen more carefully.
This performance was recorded at the St. Elias Centre of Haines Junction, Yukon.
