David Myles

DavidMylesThis episode features singer/songwriter David Myles from Halifax, Nova Scotia. Actually, the broad label “singer/songwriter” does not adequately describe David’s unique style. Somewhere on the spectrum between James Taylor and Justin Timberlake, David Myles has truly forged his own path by embracing modern and vintage pop, folk and soul music.

David is an independent artist who self-released his seven albums. His ability to gain an increasingly large audience, is in part because of his active touring schedule and in part because of his cross-genre musical collaborations, which include a single made with the rapper Classified that became the biggest-selling rap single in the history of Canadian music.

David Myles has an impressive list of achievements. These achievements include co-hosting the East Coast Music Awards show in 2013. An honour preceded by multiple wins, including Songwriter of the Year in 2012. He was also in good company at the 2012 SOCAN Awards, where he picked up the Folk/Roots Music prize. In October 2013, his new single “So Blind” took spot number 12 at the CBC Radio 2 Top 20.

In October 2013 JAM Live! Recorded David Myles at the St. Elias Center in Haines Junction, Yukon.

David shared the stage with Alan Jeffries (guitar, harmony vocals) and Kyle Cunjak (Upright Bass, harmony vocals).
