Ukjese Van Kampen has spent a life in pursuit of an understanding of Yukon First Nations Art. Having completed a MFA, MA, he continued on to finish a PHD on the History of Yukon First Nations Art. He is currently at work on his 2nd PHD focused on the Origins of Yukon First Nations Floral Designs. Ukjese has been an artist-in-residence, a presenter in North America and Europe, and a guest lecturer many times. Aside from his more academic pursuits, Ukjese is also a curator and has been involved with gallery exhibits at the Da Ku Cultural Centre in Haines Junction, as well as many other exhibitions.
